THIS week's Down Memory Lane collection comes from Ballingry man Alex Hunter and comes at a poignant time.
Lochore Meadows Country Park's open day was held on Saturday and last week the upgrade of the facilities was outlined.
Mr Hunter's pictures are from the time the country park was simply pit spoil.
They show old cooling towers being prepared for demolition, one of the bings being the subject of regrading from one of the massive machines that looks like a toy on the mass for spoil.
The size of the machine can be scene in the other picture.
The other picture shows the sort of 'wildfire' situations that the workers were often confronted with in the early work on the pit bings.
If you have a picture you would like see in our Down Memory Lane feature send it to editorial@centralfifetime.so.uk or take it to the Times Office, 17 Bank Street, Lochgelly, on a Monday or a Friday.
