TIME is running out for people to vote for the two Cowdenbeath businesses competing for the title of Britain's Best Cafe.

Kassy's Kitchen and the 4 Aces Cafe, both in High Street, have entered and voting ends on Friday night at midnight.

The competition is being sponsored by Cambridge contractor Sig Roofing, who has branches in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy, and votes have been gathered by the owners of both businesses, Jim Paterson at Kassy's and John Coughtrie of the 4 Aces.

Votes have been accepted online and by cards, which have been able to be picked up in the cafes.

Jim Paterson said this week: “I was in touch with the organiser and we got some feedback on the votes cast to date and it put Kassy's in second spot in the Central Scotland regional competition and in the top ten nationally, which is really encouraging.

“So it would be brilliant if people who have not cast a vote yet for us could do so before midnight on Friday.”

John issued the same appeal to 4 Aces supporters.

Jim added: “It has been a great experience and if we could be placed in the Central Scotland competition or better win, it would be a great boost for the town.”

Jim and his Kassy's team, had a set back when the cafe was shut for the best part part of two weeks due to a flood, but his canvassing has been back in full swing now for over three weeks.
