Bowhill Swimming Pool is going to increase its opening hours as Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre closes for refurbishments.

This will allow the Cowdenbeath pool programme to be relocated and give customers the opportunity to use other facilities. These include the health suite, Astroturf, and gym.

As previously reported in the Times, the closing date for Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre is this Monday, April 15. The centre will be out of action for approximately 14 months for its £8 million refurbishment.

The site off Stenhouse Street is operated by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, who are teaming up with Fife Council and OnFife to make the improvements. 

The project will refurbish and enhance the dry-side facilities, extend the gym space and create studio and library spaces. As well as this, the Astroturf pitches will be replaced with one larger synthetic pitch.

The library will also move from Cowdenbeath High Street into the centre as part of the refurbishments.

Group fitness classes have been relocated to a range of locations.
