THIS month the Moray Development Trust and Kelty Community Cinema will show their very first film bringing the big screen back to the village.
The ‘Cinema For All ʻ backed event will show the 2016 version of the “Jungle Book” on Sunday September  at 2pm in the Moray Institute, Main Street, Kelty.
Said Graeme Smith, on behalf of the, Kelty Community Cinema: “We are a voluntary group who aim to show family films at affordable prices.
“Admission is by ticket only, you can get your ticket to see the ʻJungle Book’ from Kelty Community Centre or Amie’s Supermarket in Main Street. Tickets are £2 per person and are limited so be sure to get yours in plenty of time.
“Under 10s must be accompanied by an adult.”
Looking ahead, Kelty Community Cinema hope to show more family films with plans underway for a Spooktacular Halloween film on Saturday October 29 with a fancy dress competition thrown in.
There will also be a Christmas movie on Sunday December 11, Christmas jumpers optional! Added Graeme: “The group also plan to show special interest themed films and liaise with other local groups to have screenings tied in to local events.
“Kelty was once served by two local picture houses, The Gothenburg and The Regal.
“With so many local movie memories its hoped residents will enjoy the return of the big screen to the village.”
This is the latest venture by the Moray Development Trust which has been established by the community.
It was set up after the new Kelty Community Centre was opened which saw a number of organisations which used the Moray as its base move and already it has proved a success.
