LOCHGELLY Going Forward comes a step closer tonight Wednesday at 6.30pm when the community initiative officially launches its 5-year Community Action Plan in the Town Hall.
Over the past few months the Lochgelly Going Forward organisation has been putting together the plan from all the proposals that they received at their Open Day which saw hundreds of people crowd into the Town Hall.
Rhona Gibbons, a member of the Lochgelly Going Forward Steering Group, said: “We have had tremendous support in drawing up the plan and deciding our priority projects for the next five years.
“Now we hope people will turn out in force to give the Action Plan a really good send-off and find out if they can play a part in making it work for the benefit of the whole community.”
The Lochgelly Going Forward initiative was launched by Fife Council Community Learning & Development Service who backed it with £28,000 seedcorn funding from the Cowdenbeath Area Committee.
Margaret King, Community Education Worker said: “The initiative is all about the community coming together, working together  and agreeing on priorities for the plan that will help make Lochgelly the place they want it to be.
“It’s been a long process and the Steering Group has worked really hard to bring it all together. This event will be a chance for local people to get their hands on the Action Plan and it would be fantastic if there was a good turnout on the night.”
The launch is an important phase in LGF and deserves a big turn out.
