TIBAL (Together in Benarty and Lochgelly) is an organisation that started several years ago in order to promote and benefit the people in Benarty and Lochgelly. But, due to a lack of funding the project was phased out in 2012.

However, due to recent developments, it has been decided to re-launch the Elderly Befriending Project. This project is designed as a befriending service to those who need it in the area.

Minister of St Serf's Church in Benarty and Lochgelly, Rev Geoff Probert said: "We are looking for volunteers to assist with the visitation of the elderly and those in need. "We hope to work in partnership with local faith communities, other agencies and organisations and local and statutory authorities wherever possible to develop the services that meet the needs of the area.

"TIBAL'S work will be one of careful research, consultation, evaluation and

monitoring. If you know of anyone who would like to become involved as a volunteer in the Elderly Befriending Project or if you know of anyone who might benefit from the services of TIBAL, please feel free to contact me on 07491139129 or 07477688538".
