STAGECOACH'S withdrawal of services has led to villages such as Dundonald, Auchtertool and the Mossgreen part of Crossgates literally cut off.

Cowdenbeath Area Committee Chairman Councillor Mark Hood has written to the Scottish Transport Minister to get something done to stop local bus services being eroded away.

Our reporter, Gemma Ryder, hit Cowdenbeath High Street to ask: "Do you back the move by Mark Hood?"

"I can't rely on the bus services so I have to drive. I work at the Diamonds Bar and the services in off-peak hours are terrible."

"I can see why people are complaining but I don't think it's that bad. As long as I can get through to work in Edinburgh, that's the main but it would be nice to use the 19 service to the leisure centre to get my son to the pictures or out for a meal."

"I find the bus service great. I'm from Lithuania and the buses are terrible compared to here. No complaints!"

Inga, Stenhouse Street, Cowdenbeath.

"I have to pick up my employee Tracey because there's a service from Leuchatsbeath at 8.05am and then the next one isn't till 10.05am. It's all just changed and they've also changed the bus stop so she has to walk right down the High Street to get to work."
