THE choice of Francis Street for the new Lochgelly Health Centre is indeed the absolute correct one.

A new health centre on this spacious site would give the opportunity to create a facility would have the sort of capacity which would be able to cater for a growing town.

It is indeed the perfect choice and the Health Partnership should be congratulated on providing the arena which allowed this decision to be taken.

Now the Partnership can put this proposal forward to the appropriate people at Holyrood and surely things can progress.

The green area in Francis Street has been lying vacant for many years now and has almost been waiting for this sort of use.

Also the possibility of the creation of a big car parking facility would sort out the almost at times chaotic car parking situation in the central area of the town.

So this is possibly the answer to the problems that almost daily occur in the central part of Lochgelly.

The Bank Street, East Main Street and Main Street and Francis Street becomes an almost no go area at the moment in the forenoon and without doubt a car park with around 100 plus spaces would greatly improve things.

Cross party support for the proposals is very encouraging and so hopefully things can now move forward fairly swiftly.

The site is there ready to be developed, and with councillors from Labour and SNP working together on this it is going to happen.

So hopefully as the months go by things will start to go ahead.
