A GOOD win on Saturday but Cowdenbeath boss Liam Fox sees as it just the start.

The result pushed the Blue Brazil up the Ladbrokes League table into seventh place and a win over this weekend's visitors to Central Park, Berwick Rangers, could push them into contention for a top for place.

The shake-up at the top of the table sees Forfar Athletic continuing their good unbeaten run but the places underneath them are up for grabs.

The Cowden manager was delighted with the way his team fought back after going a goal down just before the break.

He said: “We could not have lost a goal at a worst time, about a minute from the break, but we hit back immediately and that set us on our way.

“It was good to see Gary Glen getting his first league goal of the season and in the second-half we went on to take a grip of things.

“I changed things around a bit defensively and although we again lost the first goal we at least kept down the number of chances the opposition had.

“It was not particularly good going forward but we worked hard and sometimes you have to accept winning ugly.

“Our defensive work was a bit better but we still need to concentrate on defending as a team.”

Delighted with the result, which puts the team on to six points he said that now was the time to start picking up wins regularly.

He added: “We are in a position where we can move upwards quickly if we string together some wins and that has to be our target against Berwick Rangers this Saturday.

“They made a good start to the season but have lost a few games recently so being at home we have to set out to push on in an organised fashion as we have done in the last two away games.

“We have scored five and could have had more so that has to be our plan this weekend.”

Cowden have lost the services of Jason Dair, their assistant manager, and coach Hamish is helping Liam Fox out.

For the Berwick game there will be few changes but with Burton O'Brien fit again he will be in contention for a place in midfield.

Gerry McLauchlan came through the Montrose game well and will be in the defence this Saturday.
