KELTY Hearts made it eight straight East Super League wins while Dundonald claimed a vital victory and Hill of Beath lost by a single goal.

And in the South Division Lochgelly Albert stayed in the hunt for promotion with a point at league leaders Blackburn United.

Kelty Hearts 2 Linlithgow 0
THIS was a tricky-looking fixture for Hearts as they sought to keep their winning streak going.
However, the Rose are a shadow of their former glory days and posed Kelty few problems.
They defended well and made life difficult but seldom posed problems for Thomas Courts’ side.
In the first period Stephen Husband sent in a raking drive which was saved while Shaun Greig also went close.
Linlithgow got to the break level but in the second-half Kelty turned up the heat and took the lead in 50 minutes.
From a free-kick 25 yards out Husband fired in a special which gave the ‘keeper no chance.
It was all Hearts and in 62 minutes it was 2-0 when Garry Leighton fired over a fine cross and Brian Ritchie headed home.
Rose were in trouble but they kept their shape and denied Hearts too many openings but in terms of threatening the home goal, little happened.
Another three-point haul keeps Kelty top, three ahead of Bonnyrigg Rose who beat Bo’ness United.

Broughty Athletic 1,
Hill of Beath Hawthorn 0.
A THIRD defeat in a row for Haws but the third top Dundee side should not have claimed all three points.
This was a tight game with few chances but the best of them fell to the visitors.
Haws defended well and after Broughty hit the post the best chance of the half fell to Aaron Hay who latched on to Dale Allan’s cross but steered it wide from six yards out.
In the second period a moment of slackness from the visitors saw Broughty take the lead when a long free-kick was not dealt with and the ball was headed home at the far post.
But after that Calum Adamson sent over a good cross which Craig McGuire missed with the goal gaping and then he shot wide from close in, it was not Haws’ day.
Hill of Beath manager Bobby Wilson was happy with a lot of what he saw: “There was a lot of improvement from the Kelty game and we made the best chances in the game but a couple of the misses were disappointing.”

Newtongrange Star 1,
Dundonald Bluebell 4.
THREE  precious Super League points for Bluebell which puts plenty of distance between the Moorsiders and the bottom three.
Dundonald started well and created good chances without hitting the net. Then in 41 minutes the opener came when Lewis McKenzie showed a cool head to finish well.
The second period saw Bluebell stretch their lead when McKenzie was fouled in the box and Paul Quinn converted the penalty and on the hour McKenzie put the game out of sight by hitting the third.
Struggling Star pulled one back in 78 minutes but there was no comeback and Ross Drummond fired in the fourth to put the icing on the cake.
The result moved Bluebell on to nine points in 12th spot and boss Stevie Kay was delighted: “We have threatened to give a team a beating like that and today we were excellent.
“The players deserved this win after outplaying sides recently and not getting their rewards.”

Blackburn United 2,
Lochgelly Albert 2.
A BRILLIANT fight-back by the Berts saw them maintain their unbeaten record and stay just two points off top spot in the South
Division.
United started the better side and they created a few chances early on and took the lead in 10 minutes but Martin Rennie hit the post from a free-kick and Scott Gibson the bar with the rebound as Lochgelly fought-back.
Then Lewis Elder was hauled down in the box but no penalty awarded and then United added a second things were not looking good for the visitors.
But before the break Gibson forced the ball home after a scramble in the Blackburn box and it set up a second-half siege of the home goal.
In saying that Berts ‘keeper Lee Wilson made a great save in 65 minutes and soon after Gibson fired one into the roof of the net to square things, then in the closing seconds an Elder header was cleared off the line.

Crossgates 0 Pumpherston 4.
SOUTH Division title-chasing Pumphy were too much for Primrose at Humbug Park.
Crossgates opened the game reasonably soundly but there were early signs that Pumpherston meant business and they eventually grabbed the lead.
Primrose defended bravely but when the visitors went two up the game was very much going away from the hosts. They kept up the pressure and two more goals made it a convincing win for them.

Lochore Welfare 2,
Thornton Hibs 5.
LOCHORE did well to provide Thornton with opposition considering they had 13 players unavailable.
Top of the table Hibs went at Welfare from the start and led early in the game and soon added a second.
Lochore had a couple of half chances but when Thornton scored again before the break things looked bleak for the home side.
Indeed, Hibs stretched their advantage to five before Lochore really started to get into the game.
Callum Easson pulled one back and Lochore started to pose Hibs problems when Chris Laird added a second.
There could have been another Welfare goal as the visiting defence struggled but the first-half strikes saw Hibs through.
Welfare boss Andy Healy was delighted with the way his team kept at it: “I have never seen so many players unavailable but the lads kept at it and they deserve a lot of credit for their second-half performance.”
