COWDEN start a run of games this Saturday which could make or break the 2016/2017 season.

Clyde, one of the sides who have consistently produced good results in Ladbrokes League 2 this season, are the visitors to Central Park on Saturday and Cowden really need to extend their current unbeaten run of three games.

Despite what has been a really ordinary start to the season Cowdenbeath are only three points off fifth place in the table and eight off fourth and a possible play-off spot.

Cowden have five games in December and a ten point return from that could turn their season around.

After they meet Clyde, the Blues travel to Annan before home games with leaders Forfar Athletic and top four side Abroath with 2016 closing at Stirling Albion.

Not an easy run but if the Blue Brazil want to make an impact at the top end of the table it is one that they have to take a lot of points from.

Manager Liam Fox has been encouraged by the way his team has played in the last three games at Berwick and Edinburgh City and at home to Montrose which yielded five points.

He is a great believer in taking one game at a time but he knows that extending the unbeaten run can make a huge difference to the team's position in the table.

He said: "We played really well against Montrose and Berwick and while we were not as effective against Edinburgh City we still worked hard and were worth a point at least.

"We still need to ensure that we defend really well in games and it is something we have been working hard on and it will be particularly important in matches coming up.

"Clyde will be a very difficult task but one which we can win if we can meet the standards of our previous home game against Montrose."

There were a few niggling knocks from the City game but there should be a full squad available apart from Kenny Adamson who is about to return to training after being out for several months with a back injury.
