BILLY Allan and Barbara McMillan will be aiming for the Commonwealth Games when they play for Scotland on Sunday.

The Cowdenbeath duo have been selected for the Para Bowls squad that will contest the Pro-Am triples at East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club.

And with places up for grabs in next year's Commonwealth Games, which will be held on Australia's Gold Coast, the competition will be intense.

Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) has entered two triples for the event with Allan joined by Michael Simpson from Auchtermuchty and Gary Brown from the West of Scotland.

McMillan is teaming up with Burntisland's Martin Hunter and Mike Nicoll, from the Scottish Borders, in the other triple.

The event will attract entries from many of the country’s leading mainstream bowlers with the ultimate goal of making the Scotland squad for the Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Throughout this year the leading bowlers have major events to prove their worth, including the SYIBA Test Match in Falkirk in March, the Home Nations in Wales in April, the SDS/SIBA Indoor Bowls Championships in Falkirk in April, Multi Nation Event and Training Camp in Broadbeach Australia in May, Bowls Scotland National Championships in July and the Home Nations Championships in Nottingham in October.
