COWDENBEATH'S interim boss, Stevie Crawford, was bitterly disappointed that his short spell in charge ended with a last gasp defeat on Saturday.

The Blue Brazil were 2-1 up with five minutes left but two late goals from Caledonian Braves turned the match on its head and left him wondering just how the three points slipped away.

Crawford said: “We were worth our lead at the midway stage of the second-half with some really good moves coming from us, then in the closing stages Braves upped their game and we were handling things well, but in the closing seconds we started to make key errors.

“To lose the winner so late was galling and we could have handled that situation better. It was frustrating to lose a match we had been the better side in for long spells.”

He has enjoyed his four games in charge of the Blue Brazil, but he now is to spend his time on a project he is putting together to create a football academy.

Crawford, who previously managed Dunfermline and Rosyth, added: “I think the club is in a good place, with some really talented young players in the ranks, and I am sure the future is bright for Cowden.”
